I've done this on the chat board for a different on-line school I attended for a time. As a result, it's still in buisness even though I'm not taking classes there. Everyone likes it! I can translate your name for you if you give me the meaning. I can show you how to say 'Curse you to the Void!' or any other phrase you're curious about. Also, this is the place you can post to have your own translations done. Whether it's a greeting for the Quenya conversation thread or you're writing a poem. People can help you out here (or at least, I can ) And, if you happen to have come across an interesting word in your studying, post it here and I can research it. Pretty much...bring on the Elvish! ~Anne

Well Anne, are you also going to maybe finish the information you were posting about the valar on that topic here? As I recall you had done only three before you stopped and I know that that's not all the valar. Anna

Hey Anne! Could you translate Beth and Poppie for me? I would expect Poppie to mean the poppy flower. I don't know what Beth means. Thanks! Anna

WOW, I just got on for the first time in a looong time. I need to update some stuff. *looks around at the dusty old posts and threads*
I'll have to look up Poppy for you.
Beth means 'house', or 'Gift' thus...
QUENYA: MARA 'house' (alternate endings for female: Mariel, or Marien
SINDARIN: BARA 'house' (alt. endings: Bariel, or Barien.
QUENYA: Anna 'gift' (alt. Anniel, or Annien, or Aniel, or Anien.'
SINDARIN: Ona 'gift' (alt. endings: Oniel, Onien.)
I'll get back to you on poppy. Sorry this is late... ~Anne

Poppy >> Fumella foo-MEL-ah OR Fumellot foo-MEL-loht (rounded O, like the Spanish would say it)
There you go!

If any of you post a sentence for me to put into Elvish, it will be posted again in the Conversation Elvish thread in either Sindarin or Quenya. My little mind has trouble coming up with conversation sentences, so this should help ~Anne
